There is a generalization women make that makes me cringe. So this is a little tutorial for both sexes, on a highly sensitive issue between men and women: The 5 word declaration, single women make “I want a sensitive man”.
It’s surprising to me how many people I hear about that have relationship problems which stem from the Internet. Here are a few of the top issues I’ve heard about.

At one point in my life I lived in a small village in upstate New York. It’s a quiet little village where there’s not much excitement, but it was full of out of control fun and adventure on one day.
I have what I like to fondly refer to as naughty noggin times. I’m not sure which fantasy is my favorite, and yes, I did say “which one”. A girl can’t be expected to have just one favorite fantasy; it’s like a Lays Potato Chip. They’re so damn good, how the hell can you be expected to put that bag down?
I’ve been harping a lot on what women want, but what about what men want? Let’s talk about that. Men, for the most part, are more transparent when it comes to love and sex; man desire is physical and all out in front (so to speak). To meet your guy’s needs, usually all you have to do is show up. But to really get him firing on all cylinders, how about putting forth a little extra effort?
Last weekend, my buddy Jay went out to a bar, it was a pretty standard Saturday night, he met a girl and he got her number at the end of the night. He’s actually the kind of guy who does call the next day, and when he did, he got this ” This is not the person you were trying to call, you have reached the rejection hotline.”

When I sleep, I want distance. Lots of it. In order to insure this, I own a bed only slightly larger than a football field, and anyone else in it better stay on the other side or get out. I sleep close to the edge and rarely toss and turn…resulting in efficient sleep, which is good, because in my case, lost sleep is definitely not pretty. I am the Fortress of Solitude. My ideal partner is another Fortress or a Corpse.

I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical when I first created my dating profile. I wasn’t sure how comfortable I felt putting all of my cards out on the table for any old person to see. Would some creep download my photo and create some kind of weird Silence of the Lambs-style shrine to me? Would some jilted date be able to put the pieces of my life together and find out where I live? And perhaps most troubling to me was: what if I do meet the man of my dreams online? What ever will I tell our children? “Well, honey, mommy couldn’t find a date, so she began scouring the Internet for someone to love her…”

A few years ago, I hooked up with a celebrity online, a bonafide rock star. It was just a chance meeting, he was trolling a forum where I hang out and we started to chat, and it was like a lightning bolt of pure attraction. Before long we were chatting all day every day. He didn’t say who he was at first, and when he told me, I did not believe him, but since I liked him so much I pretended to. Eventually, I did become convinced he was who he claimed to be, because he began to mention things we’d discuss on his blog and even during an online radio interview he’d asked me to tune into.
