Friends with Benefits?

April 16, 2009 | Relationships by Flirty Felicia

I was perusing the Date Hookup forum today and came across multiple posts by users involved in “friends with benefits” situations. If you are unaware of what this term refers to, let me fill you in. A friend with benefits is pretty much one step up from a booty call. They are someone you call up for a good time, but for whatever reason are not your boyfriend or girlfriend. This may be because they just don’t fit the criteria or it could be because neither of you are looking for anything serious. Ideally, a friend with benefits should be a friend. They should treat you with respect and vice versa. You get many of the fun aspects of having a relationships, i.e. sex and companionship, with no strings attached. Does it sound too good to be true? That’s because it is.

A Homecooked Meal Will Capture His Heart

March 26, 2009 | Date Ideas by Flirty Felicia

We have all heard the expression “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach”. Any food lover out there knows that nothing hits the spot or the heart like a home cooked meal made with love. I was recently planning on cooking dinner for a new love interest, so I went online to do a little research and was a little shocked by some of what I read. I found tons of articles and blogs recommending that I make an elaborate spread with lots of overly (in my opinion) romantic touches. The whole thing seemed a little forced and I couldn’t imagine my date coming to my apartment and enjoying a meal of oysters and caviar by candlelight. Maybe this works if you’re in a serious relationship or into that kind of romance, but it just didn’t seem right to me. I ended up opting for something more casual and decided that (for me at least) there are some more important factors besides romance that go into planning a meal for a man (women too! most girls wouldn’t turn down a free meal ;)).

Do Opposites Really Attract?

March 23, 2009 | Celebrities by Flirty Felicia

The recent union of Mandy Moore and singer, Ryan Adams, has got me wondering, do opposites really attract? Sure, I have heard people use this expression and even seen examples of it in real life but I have never experienced it myself. Most people probably look for a partner who shares mutual interests and values, but by doing that are we missing out on a world of love and opportunity a partnership with a person unlike us would bring? Celebrities have been doing the opposites attract thing for years. Here are a few examples of some of the famous (and infamous) pairings of opposites:

March 18, 2009 | Relationships by Flirty Felicia

Have you ever gotten out of a relationship and wondered where you may have gone wrong? Many times, after a relationship ends, we find ourselves asking how we could have missed the warning signs that our unions weren’t meant to be. The Escape Artist

March 2, 2009 | Humor by Flirty Felicia

I recently had the unfortunate luck to go on a terrible date. It happens to the best of us. We either get sucked into it or make the awful decision to go on a date that ultimately make us feel like we want to pull the hair out of our heads…one by one. The entire date, I wondered how I could politely pull a Harry Houdini and disappear. I told some of my friends about my date from hell and they had plenty of advice on how to 007 my way out of my next bad date. Here are a few of their tips, compiled with a few ideas of my own, that will you get out of your next bad date!

Trials and Tribulations of “Hooking Up”

February 2, 2009 | Dating Tips by Flirty Felicia

After a recent break up, I am back on the market. After eating my weight in Ben and Jerry’s for awhile, the time has come to move on! Although, I am not ready to start seriously dating anyone, any distractions are welcome. I have heard the saying “The easiest way to get over someone is by getting under someone else”. Until now, I haven’t necessarily agreed with this statement, but I guess with age and..um…new “needs” my mind has been changed. This of course opens up another can of worms; the trials and tribulations of “hooking up”. “Hooking up” is how my generation so fondly refers to casual sexual encounters, and when not handled correctly things can get messy. There are a few important rules to remember when taking part in a “hook up”.
