Romantic comedies and drama's make life hell for us. I do what I can for my girlfriend but in real life I don't have the magical friend connections that movie guys have, endless resourses of time and money, musical talent to write songs for her on a weekly basis or what ever it is. And I know sometimes she'll watch a movie and think, "why doesn't he do that for me?" It cheapens the things I can do for her. Right this moment I've got us planned on a mystery trip/date (she knows about when we're going but not where) and I woke up to distraught IM's about how she doesn't think I show her I care enough.
